My Lord,
REN 20
GOVERNMENT HOUSE,
HONGKONG. 21st September, 1920.
I have the honour to report that, subject
to Your Lordship's approval, I have granted to Sanitary Inspector Frederick Fisher, who is retiring on account of ill health but for family reasons intends to remain in Hongkong, a pension at the rate of £221 per annum payable locally in dollars at the current rate of exchange, with effect from the 15th October, 1920, inclusive.
2.
On the revision of salaries Inspector Fisher, then on a salary of £340 per annum, was unwilling to accept the new rate of 2360, thẻ maximum approved for the grade of Sanitary Inspectors, 1st Class, and was offered the alternatives of remaining on his old salary, either with a non-pensionable allowance of 20%, or without this allowance but on the understanding that on his retire- ment he should be granted an increase of 30% on his pension as in the case of officers on similar pensione domiciled in the United Kingdom who retired before the revision of salaries.
Inspector Fisher chose the latter alterna- tive and his pension has been calculated accordingly.
I have the honour to be,
My Lord,
Your Lordship's most obedient,
humble servant,
B.E. Stutts
